Sandy’s Market is a healthy food store located on the south side of the Katy Freeway at the Dairy Ashford exit. Sandy Arch picks each item on the shelves personally to insure quality and make sure that the items contribute to good health. Items range from locally grown produce to vitamins, herbs and a large selection of leaf teas.
Sandy uses these healthy high-quality ingredients in the fresh foods prepared daily and served buffet style in the store. Friendly servers come by your table and offer whole leaf hot tea brewed in an infuser.
The store’s atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. Sandy Arch believes that food brings people together and that a relaxing atmosphere improves digestion.
The Sandy’s Market clientele includes people of all ages interested in good health and those that are looking for natural alternatives to prescription drugs and traditional medicine. “Our customers have great ideas and are not shy about asking for what they want,” said Sandy Arch. “We’ve built the store around those ideas and suggestions.”
One suggestion has grown into a monthly health fair held right in the large store. The Healthy U Wellness Expo is a monthly gathering of health practitioners, service providers and local product manufacturers. Each practitioner has a booth where visitors are invited to speak directly with the owner, ask questions and see the product first-hand. “From a simple idea, the Wellness Expo has grown into one of the most popular events at the store,” said Diane Hester, the Expo organizer.
