Heath and wellness industry leaders will gather at the George R. Brown Convention center on April 19 and 20, 2008, for the Total Body Expo, produced by Total Body Magazine. Editor in Chief Regina Throop assembled this group of experts to provide information on the latest technology, procedures and products related to health and well being.
“This will be an interactive show,” said Regina Throop on the Homework Houston radio show. “Attendees will be able to get a massage, get their teeth whitened, have their body mass index or cholesterol tested and see demonstrations of different beauty treatments.”
Health and wellness experts will be on hand to meet visitors, demonstrate their products and provide information on their business.
“Our goal for the Total Body Expo is the same as Total Body Magazine,” said Throop. “We’ll provide information to men and women who take an active role in achieving total wellness in mind, body and spirit.”
Total Body Magazine was founded by Regina Throop and Kelli Meyer four years ago. Throop and Meyer bring 3 decades of publishing experience to the magazine. Total Body Magazine is locally owned and locally focused. It includes information on fitness, nutrition, beauty, medical news, prevention, trends and technology.
“We do the homework for our readers,” said Regina Throop. “We go out and meet the people doing the procedures and making the products.” Total Body Magazine starts with face to face interviews but goes well beyond. “In many cases, we’ve done it,” said Throop. “We’ve used the product, tried the procedures and tried the workout equipment. We’ll tell you whether we like it or not.”
Kelli Meyer, Publisher and contributing editor of Total Body Magazine does much of the homework and research behind the stories that appear in the magazine’s pages. “I’m the designated skeptic,” said Kelli Meyer. “I tend to have a show-me-that-it’s-real point of view. I want to do my homework. I want to have it proven to me that something works before I tell our readers about it,” said Meyer.
Kelli Meyer suggests applying the same kind of skepticism to a provider before any kind of procedure is considered. Make sure the procedure under consideration is medically supervised. There should be a doctor on staff and the procedure should be administered by a nurse.
A wealth of homework on health and well being can be done at the George R. Brown Convention Center April 19 and 20, 2008, at the Total Body Expo.
